Following his initial career as a teacher, Dr. Odutola joined his family's business. After this, in 1982, he began working for The Bible Society of Nigeria. Prior to becoming its chief executive officer 11 years ago, he served as his company's administrative and public relations manager. Dr. Odutola has 29 years of professional experience, and an expertise in human capital management and marketing. The Bible Society of Nigeria is the second largest distributor of Bibles in the world. Dr. Odutola's responsibility is to raise funds for the organization, which he does through the Guest House program. This program advertises and offers the opportunity to travel to Nigeria and rent fully furnished homes; the money directly funds The Bible Society of Nigeria.
Dr. Odutola holds a Ph.D., Doctor of Divinity, Master of Science and Master of Business Administration. He also earned a postgraduate diploma in journalism and two bachelor's degrees in English and Law. Dr. Odutola is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Directors. Additionally, he is the chairman of the United Bible Societies, Africa Area Board. He has traveled to 58 countries around the world and received the prestigious Dr. Kwame Nkrumah Africa Leadership Award. Dr. Odutola's term at The Bible Society of Nigeria is near its end; he intends to become more active in his law firm as well as motivational speaking.
