Lakewood, Ohio, Good Friday Tres Horae Service of Meditations and Reflections

First Lutheran Church of Lakewood, Ohio, will remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ with scripture readings, meditations, reflections in music and movement, prayer and opportunities for silent devotion in a Tres Horae, a 3 hour solemn Service of Meditations on the Seven Words from the Cross on Good Friday, April 22, 2011, from noon until 3 pm.

    April 21, 2011 /Religion PR News/ -- Faith Lutheran Church of Lakewood, Ohio, cordially invites the general public to join them in a Tres Horae [pronounced /trace or-ay/] on Friday, April 22, 2011, beginning at noon and ending at 3 pm.

This three-hour Service of Meditations on the Seven Words from the Cross is held in observance of Good Friday, the day in the church year when Christians worldwide turn their attention to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

The service includes hymns, scripture readings, short delivered meditations, musical reflections by organ, choir, gospel ensemble, praise band, physical movement interpretations in the form of liturgical dance and a Clown Ministry, prayer and moments of silent meditation and reflection.

Those attending may come and go as their schedules require.

Faith Lutheran Church is located at 16511 Hilliard Road at Woodward Avenue in the West End of Lakewood, Ohio.

Faith Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Northeast Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Since its formation in 1925, the congregation has worshiped at the same location in Lakewood. The building is a traditional Gothic structure and was dedicated on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1932.
