Timothy Watkins to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Timothy Watkins is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association
MISSION, TX, August 04, 2010 /Religion PR News/ -- Timothy Watkins, Choir Director for the Sharyland Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in music direction.
At the Sharyland Independent School District, Mr. Watkins manages three choir classes and 120 students; he teaches them the fundamentals of singing (bel canto style), breathing and posture. Encouraging higher-level performance, he instructs progressive warm-up exercises, basic theory and note reading (using solfeggio). His students have performed well advancing to the Texas All-State Choir and the Texas All-State Solo and Ensemble contest. Watkins also instructs private lessons out of his home to students from various school districts, some of whom have advanced to the Texas All-State Choir. Additionally, Mr. Watkins works as a personal computer repair professional for Watkins' Industries. He has 25 years of professional experience.
An ordained minister, Mr. Watkins volunteers his services to the North Mission Church of Christ, where he is responsible for overseeing worship and mission activities. He teaches junior church classes for first- through fifth-grade students. Mr. Watkins also instructs a group of worship singers.
In 1991, Mr. Watkins earned a Master of Religious Education from International Seminary in Plymouth, Fla. He started his Master's education at Eastern New Mexico University. He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the Valley Symphony Orchestra & Chorale.
