Rapper Michael Barber's Motion Picture Mayhem 2 hits 16,500 in online Sales
Rapper Michael Barber's Motion Picture Mayhem has hit 16,500 sales online via Itunes and Amazon. He was released from a Boca Raton rehab and is considering a name change to the Irish Jesus. His Purple Aces Project is due out this month.
LONDON, ENGLAND, July 17, 2010 /Religion PR News/ -- Michael Barber, an often misunderstood musician, has hit the 16,500 milestone in online sales for his Motion Picture Mayhem 2 album. The release hit Itunes in January after being a free release on Frostwire.com as a torrent and on over 200 other websites.
The material was then re-released via Itunes after Barber signed with HMG/Universal Records, and has become a hot item on Itunes and Amazon. Many people have mentioned online to buying the material even after getting it for free to show support.
Motion Picture Mayhem is a five part series that Barber makes using only a sampler a DVD player. His work has been called genius by some bloggers, and "too abstract" by others.
Barber, who was recently released from a rehab center in Boca Raton for a chemical dependency to sleep medications. He was a supporting act on two tours last year, and was noticed by Tre Magazine as being one of the best live performers for 2009.
Barber was in tabloid news for dating Danielle Fishel and releasing the Billboard information on Drake using ghostwriters. The superstar pop star, Drake, posted a reply to Barber stating, "it is disrespectful to talk about points on a record".
Barber is gearing up for a release of another free album, The Purple Aces Project with DJ Fade. It will be 15 songs of self produced material.
Barber said he is considering changing his legal name to Jesus, stating "I am the Irish Jesus, Michael Barber is my government name, I feel I should fulfill my prophecy and change my name".
Barber has been unavailable since his release, and he deleted most of online presence before entering rehab.
He recently ending his Ed Hardy sponsorship, although he ended the contract after working closely with the company for 4 years.
Motion Picture Mayhem 2 is now available on Itunes and The Purple Aces Project is due out this month.
