Rev. Terry Blevins Honored for Accomplishments in Religious Service
Rev. Terry Blevins Serves as Head and Fellow Pastor of Two Presbyterian Churches
HALIFAX, VA, December 22, 2009 /Religion PR News/ --Rev. Terry Blevins, Minister for Berry Hill Presbyterian Church and Halifax Presbyterian Church, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of religious service.
With 12 years of devoted service to the Lord, Rev. Terry Blevins is sought for his expertise in ministry and counseling. He functions as head and fellow pastor for the churches of Berry Hill Presbyterian and Halifax Presbyterian. His responsibilities include delivering sermons, educating and counseling parishioners, making hospital visits, and organizing outreach programs. In addition to his church duties, Rev. Blevins sits on the advisory board of Healthy Families Halifax and serves as associate chaplain of Halifax Regional Hospital. He attributes the success that he has enjoyed in multiple aspects of his field to his strong love for God and earnest to desire to be of service to others.
Rev. Blevins received his Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He previously served as president of the Halifax Ministerial Association, as a member of the board of the Halifax-Charlotte chapter of the American Red Cross, and as president and board member of the Good Samaritan Community Clothes Closet and Food Pantry. He was recently recognized by Cambridge Who's Who as a VIP member. Rev. Blevins' goals for the next five years include adding to the congregations of the two churches in his care and increasing his involvement in community activities.
The present Berry Hill Presbyterian Church was built by the Bruce family, circa 1914, on the former Berry Hill Plantation as a place of worship for their employees. The present Halifax Presbyterian Church was built in 1949 on Cedar Lane in Halifax, VA.
