A lifetime in the making (well, closer to a year-and-a-half from initial concept to final execution), Nerd of God was conceived with the goal in mind of providing cutting-edge technology coverage that melds a critical eye with a good dose of personality and humor, and to do so from a frame of reference that acknowledges there's more to technology, and life, than meets the eye.
Our maxim really says it all, Technology. Ministry. Life. No doubt, technology is our passion. We eat, sleep, breathe and dream about it. Nerd of God's focus is to cover new and emerging technologies—hardware, software, gadgets and services—and how they can be utilized to our best advantage. Our desire is to help our readers make informed decisions about their tech purchases, as well as make the most of the technology they already own.
We also believe that technology has the potential to greatly enhance Christian ministry, as well as non-profits in general. Hence, one of our chief goals is to provide helpful advice to those involved in serving others, offering recommendations on how technology can be leveraged to greatest effect, highlighting valuable resources available and dispensing practical guidance to aid in the process of meeting needs.
Finally, it's about life. Technology can improve our lives or diminish them. Technology simply for technology's sake is a distraction. Tech that's employed to make life better—more efficient and effective, less stressful and more fun—is where we want to concentrate. Moreover, while we love technology, we love God even more, evidenced by our name. We won't hide that fact, but we won't force our beliefs on others either.
