Mamre Marsh Wilson Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

In 2002, she wrote and published "Beaufort: North Carolina," a highly readable and visual history of the famed Tar Heel fishing village established in 1709.

BEAUFORT, NC, April 5, 2009 /Religion PR News/ -- Mamre Marsh Wilson, Owner of The Studio, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in historical research.

Mamre Marsh Wilson, an avid historical researcher, has called Beaufort, North Carolina home for the past 30 years. A native of Connecticut, she developed an interest in research after she bought her Beaufort home and wanted to learn more about its history. In 2002, she wrote and published "Beaufort: North Carolina," a highly readable and visual history of the famed Tar Heel fishing village established in 1709. In 2006, after witnessing the demolition of a historic home in her neighborhood to make room for new building development, she was spurred to write and publish "A Story of North Carolina's Historic Beaufort." Last year, Ms. Wilson joined the Diocese of Eastern North Carolina as a historiographer and she also acts as chief judge for the precinct in Beaufort's elections office and as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She has worked in theatre, television, as a secretary, and as a media buyer for an advertising agency.

Ms. Wilson received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a concentration in Ministerial Studies from The University of the South's School of Theology in Sewanee, TN in 1985 and an Associate Degree from Centenary Junior College for Women (now Centenary College) in 1953. She is a member of the Beaufort Historical Association, chairwoman of the Beaufort Historic Preservation Commission and sits on the board of trustees of National Episcopalians Historians and Archivists. In 2004, the State of North Carolina honored her with a Historian of the Year Award.
