Priscilla Shirer Challenges Women to Go Beyond the Ordinary
LifeWay Women's Events brings Priscilla Shirer's Going Beyond weekend to San Jose's Cathedral of Faith.
NASHVILLE, TN, February 12, 2009 /Religion PR News/ -- On February 20-21, LifeWay Women Events is bringing Priscilla Shirer's Going Beyond weekend to the Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, CA. Combining intensive Bible study with vibrant worship and intensive prayer time, the Going Beyond event captures Shirer's life message: a challenge to women to go beyond the everyday, ordinary life to a soul-satisfying walk with Christ.

As the daughter of Dr. Tony Evans, Shirer grew up understanding the responsibility of full time ministry. Instead of immediately pursuing the same path, she went to college to prepare for a career in broadcast journalism. Despite her work in radio and television, her greatest desire remained in helping women study the Bible.
Shirer reaches out especially to the women who have "heard it all" when it comes to God but simply aren't experiencing the power promised in the Bible. "We tend to think that God only speaks to the spiritually elite," she says. "That only established authors or teachers or pastors are hearing from God, not regular people like us. Women can open up the Bible, see the passages unfold, watch the principles jump out and realize they can do that in their own life."
A wife and mother of two young sons, Shirer understands the unique needs and daily stresses of overworked women whose lives seem to be hanging together by a thread. Her goal remains to help women in all seasons of life, from all backgrounds, see how applicable the Bible is to their daily situations.
