R&B Legend Bunny Sigler & Veteran Attorney Lloyd Zane Remick On Cloud Nine After GRAMMY Nomination
Famed Soul Songwriter Struts His Versatility With A Nod In Classical Crossover Category
FORT WASHINGTON, MD, December 16, 2008 /Religion PR News/ -- Bunny Sigler's musical creations have been sung by countless people. "Love Train," "Somebody Loves You Baby" and "I Got My Mind Made Up" are just a few of the songs from the pen of Walter "Bunny" Sigler. Part of Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff's Philadelphia Sound, the hit maker has racked up sales of 35 million units as a songwriter, producer and performer. Now the artist has been nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Classical Crossover Album for The Othello Syndrome as a member of the Uri Caine Ensemble, an opera recording where Sigler sings the lead role of Othello. The winners will be announced at the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards Telecast airing live at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 8, 2009 and broadcasting on CBS from 8:00 - 11:30PM.
Sigler not only recorded the Othello Syndrome, but has performed the opera live in Europe. After learning to speak and sing in Italian, he wrote lyrics to four tracks on the CD. He's also the lead vocalist on five songs. The GRAMMY honor is a capstone to a career that has spanned decades and seen the artist shine in a variety of musical formats.
Long-time friend and entertainment attorney Lloyd Zane Remick and Sigler launched Bun-Z Records earlier this year. The first project out of the gate is Sigler's gospel debut called "The Lord's Prayer," a collection of inspiring and heartfelt gospel tunes, some of the songs he's been singing for years. He's currently on a 9-city tour with inspirational harpist, Jeff Majors, featured on his gospel recording, as part of Majors' National Tour for the Homeless.
The artist, also, recently delivered two Christmas singles in classical style, "Christmas Dream" and "O Holy Night" with Piano4, featuring four superior concert pianists. The two artists are the perfect combination for Christmas. The singles are hitting the airwaves nationally just in time to ring in the season.
But Sigler is most well-known as a member of the "Sound of Philadelphia." In his illustrious career, he's worked with artists such as The O'Jays, Patti Labelle, Instant Funk, Curtis Mayfield, Carl Carlton, Phyllis Hyman, Lou Rawls, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes and Chaka Khan. This month, Sigler is being highlighted along with other soul icons in "Love Train: The Sound of Philadelphia," The PBS Television Special Celebrating The Philly Soul of Gamble & Huff which was filmed during a live concert.
