Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, , Minister Judy Jacobs, and legendary recording artist Vickie Winans, were among several speakers and psalmists in the Washington D.C. area April 24th-27th for the "Don't Block My Flow" Women's Conference 2007 hosted by Pastor Lyle Dukes and Co-Pastor Deborah Dukes.
/Religion PR News/ - WASHINGTON, DC, May 02, 2007 - The conference, for women only, was held in the Washington, D.C. suburbs at Harvest Life Changers Church. Other speakers included Bishop Alfred and Co-Pastor Susie Owens of the Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church in Washington, D.C. On Sunday April 29th, appropriately deemed "Women's Overflow Sunday," Elder Debra Morton of the Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana delivered words to live by to the entire congregation. Special guest artists also included gospel sensation Lexi and the powerful psalmist Shirley Murdock.
With the theme "Developing the Confident Woman in You," the conference was designed to bring out the confidence that every woman needs to reach her life's destiny. Dynamic workshops included The Prosperous Woman (Building Your Financial Portfolio), The Confident Career Woman (Being Strong and Successful in the Workplace), The Confident Single Woman, The Woman of Purpose (Releasing Your Past and Embracing Your Future) and The Beautiful Woman, with renowned fashion and beauty consultants Kym Lee and Angelique Alston of Outer Skinz Image Group. Leaders with first-hand knowledge and experience taught the workshops, including "Can You Hear Me Now?" taught by Bishop and Co-Pastor Owens from a male perspective. This was a great opportunity for women to come and learn from experienced facilitators.
Workshop sessions and services were held at Harvest Life Changers Church, International in Woodbridge, VA. On April 27th, over 200 conference attendees went on and all day shopping trip to New York City.
