OSMTH and The Interdenominational Church of the Holy Lands airlifting Medical Supplies to Tamil Controlled areas of Sri Lanka

The Most Reverend Gary Beaver pledges to get urgently needed medical supplies through to the Tamil Tiger Terrorist controlled areas of Sri Lanka

/24-7PressRelease.com/ - January 4, 2005 - A joint OSMTH (Magistral Grand Priory of the Holy Lands) and Interdenominational Church emergency airlift operation is set to get off the ground Wednesday from London Heathrow, carrying 2 metric tonnes of urgent humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka's Tamil controlled disaster area.

Final loading of the urgently needed medical supplies, shelter materials and other relief supplies donated to the joint appeal was being completed on Monday 3rd January. In the region, meanwhile, the joint OSMTH and Interdenominational Church Humanitarian Relief Team will be working with the British High Commission to make sure that the urgently needed supplies get to those areas that have received little or no aid since the tsunami hit.

Two further flights are scheduled from Heathrow to airlift a further 3 metric tonnes of medical supplies and lightweight family-sized tents.

"Getting medical supplies and roofs over these people's heads is a top priority," said Archbishop Gary Beaver, who has been leading the joint OSMTH Christian Charity and Interdenominational Church disaster relief programme.

Air Lanka, Malaysia Airlines and Garuda Airline have generously offered its fleet of aircraft to support our airlifts.
